Back home !

We finally got back home last Thursday around 7pm. Glad to have made it back safely with no infractions this time ha!

OMG It’s over !

I know I have neglected this area of the site as we went thru all of the days of GT Rally 3. I’ll update with pictures and videos shortly. About to embark on our 3 day drive back to FL !

She sleeps tonight under the clear Nevada sky…

Well after 3 days and 2400+ miles we finally made it into Nevada. The festivities start to begin tomorrow for the GTForum Rally 3. More info and pics to follow !!!

Texas has finally gone away spent the evening in Las Cruces, NM.

Yeah east to west on I-10 is a long ride. We are averaging over 900 miles a day, so today will be a hair shorter to LV. I did find out that the GT is a real magnet for the Texas Highway Patrol.

Stopping point #1 Winnie, Texas

Alright, we have ventured almost a thousand miles from our starting point in Sarasota, FL on our jaunt to Las Vegas which leaves us spending the night in Winnie TX. Tomorrow we will roll the rest of the way across TX on good ole I-10 westward bound.

Plans changed

We have spent the last week working on a secret GT project at Heffner’s Performance in Sarasota, FL. Which changed around out initial route to west. But we are about to leave directly from here in minutes head north on I-75 then west on I-10 to Las Vegas ! Woohoo !

She has tread once again !

Ford GT

For the first time since the original Goodyear’s bit the dust my car has had many sets of Hoosier R6’s out back. On went the Michelin PS2’s Friday in preparation for our westward Journey to GT Rally 3 ! And surprisingly enough these tires hook a heck of a lot better then I expected them too.

New Tires in bound

viper

As most of you know I run Hoosier R6 315/40/19 tires out back on the GT. Which is great from a traction perspective but since I will be piloting her across the US and back in a few weeks I had to come up with a temporary street tire solution. So I just ordered in a pair of Michelin Pilot Sport 2 345/30/19 tires. I’ll use these to get out to Vegas and back and once back home the R6 will go back on the GT and these will slide under the back end of my viper which is running around on bald feet right now.
